Final Thoughts on Cyber Security Awareness Month

By Bruce Nelson

As Cyber Security Awareness Month comes to an end I think this quote from Paul “Bear” Bryant is particularly relevant for small businesses.

It’s not the will to win that matters – everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.”

In just the past month we’ve seen two new attacks targeting a weakness in Wifi Protocol, and BadRabbit, a new malware variant.

Despite the well-publicized attacks, technology adoption will continue to increase. It goes beyond our computers and phones. Our businesses, homes, devices, cars and other machines will be fully integrated with technology and hackers will inevitably look for ways to exploit that.

We should not let the threat of these attacks scare us away from technology and solutions that will improve our overall quality of life. Instead we must prepare our system and teams so that we can mitigate our risk and win in the new cyber security environment.

For our part in the Cyber security ecosystem, we work with clients to provide and manage solutions that mitigate these risks. Our solutions are built on the four pillars of SMB security.

  1. Managed patching for operating system and key applications
  2. Managed anti-virus solutions
  3. Managed Backup and disaster recovery solutions
  4. End user security training and awareness

Are You Missing Any of These Key Elements and would like to hear how we help clients?
