The Next Version of Dynamics GP is Here!

The next version of Microsoft Dynamics GP for on-premises customers has been released!

Beginning with the October 2019 release, Microsoft Dynamics GP will follow the Modern Policy. What does Modern Lifecycle mean for Microsoft Dynamics GP  customers?

With the Modern Policy, Microsoft commits to three updates per year, with additional updates as needed. Modern Policy offers continuous support and servicing, including bug fixes, new features, and the latest tax updates. Customers may stay current by taking at least one of the three yearly planned updates. The Dynamics GP Support and Service blog breaks down new expected release approach. Each year you are guaranteed at minimum:

  • Feature update in October, meaning a larger update that includes new features for our customers.
  • Year end updates in November (U.S.) December (Canada)
  • Mid-Year update (typically June/July timeframe) depending on regulatory changes for the year

With the modern policy, Microsoft encourage customers to stay current with the release and apply at least one update a year.

For the next couple of weeks, we will highlight some of the great new productivity savings that come with Dynamics GP 2020.  Whoops, I mean the latest Modern Policy update!
