Meet a Team MemberAs part of our continuing blog series, introducing you to our team at Vertilocity.

Q: How did you join Vertilocity?

A: I had been working at a restaurant while paying my way through college and when I graduated, I began to diligently search for a career. I had several interviews and job offers, but I was being selective. Someone from a staffing agency reached out to me and told me about a job at Vertilocity in Bridgeville. She raved about the company and knew them well because they had gotten several others jobs there too. I took her word for it and I’m so glad that I did.

Q: What is the gadget that you can’t live without?

A: I hate to admit this, but it’s absolutely my cell phone. I don’t have a land line and I work from home, so I use my cell phone for business as well as personal use. Not to mention, with smart phones you don’t really need another gadget. Of course, it’s much easier to use a computer but if you had to pick one device, a smart phone is the most versatile.

Q: What is your ideal client?

A: I love people. I love to talk to people, relate with them and I have worked in customer service my entire career, so I love being able to make them happy. My ideal client is someone who I can take the time to get to know and build a relationship with. It’s so easy with the hustle and bustle of everyday life and business, to get so consumed in what we are doing and forget to actually be human. I like to really get to know people and that is the best way to help them in my opinion. It takes knowing someone and their company and how their business operates to be able to meet their needs.

Q: What mistakes do you see made over and over in your industry?

A: When a Dynamics GP client comes to us from another Microsoft Dynamics partner, I am amazed that they do not know about the free training benefits that are available to them. At Vertilocity, the first thing that we do is let our customers know how to contact support, and what training resources that they have available to them. There are many. I think the mistake other Microsoft Dynamics partners are making is to not share this with their clients. Microsoft Dynamics GP is a great system, but if you aren’t sure of the best way to use it or how to get help and training to use it, then it’s not going to operate at its fullest potential. It’s so great to have the opportunity to introduce our customers to their options as far as Dynamics GP help and training is concerned.

Q: What is your favorite free tool that others can get?

A: My favorite free tool is the Dynamics GP Community. It’s located in CustomerSource where you can also access free online training. Through the Dynamics GP Community you can get help from qualified experts in forums, blogs, videos and how-to articles.  What I love about it is that its content is written by experts who are truly passionate about the Microsoft Dynamics GP Solution and are committed to helping others succeed in using their systems.

Q: What is the best advice you have ever received?

A: Bruce Nelson, the president of our company sent out a companywide email encouraging us and thanking all of his employees for our hard work. He wrote a quote by Henry Ford at the bottom, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right”. That quote was really the best advice that I have received, in business and personally. It’s truly inspirational and I remember it anytime that I don’t see my full potential.

Q: What is your background picture on your desktop right now?

A: My daughter when she was two weeks old. I have a friend who is a photographer and she took some amazing photos of her.
