According to Apple, the macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 update offers a range of improvements, bug fixes, and security enhancements. Some of the new features you’ll see include:

  • Expanding the ‘Favorites’ section in the Music app to encompass songs, albums, and playlists. You can now filter your favorites for easier library navigation.
  • Access to Apple warranty status from System Settings for Mac, AirPods, and Beats headphones/earbuds.
  • Repairs the issue where Service Settings in Location Services unexpectedly reset.
  • Rectifies a problem that might have been causing encrypted external drives to fail to mount.

Vertilocity Recommendations

As a result of the changes in Apple’s operating system, Vertilocity recommends that users avoid installing the MacOS 14.1.1 Sonoma update without first ensuring that they have the latest build of Sentinel One installed. As the update became available on October 25th, the support team is actively deploying it to client MacOS endpoints through their regular update schedules.

Mac users who wish to install the update to Sonoma 14.1.1 should verify that their Sentinel
One Agent version is 23.2.6951 or higher before attempting to install the Sonoma update. View Apple’s macOS Sonoma 14.1 Release Notes.
